GREEN NUCLEAR POWER - A NEW SOLUTION TO OUR ENERGY AND CLIMATE PROBLEMS

A modern society needs a lot of energy to function well. This is also the case in Europe.

Below you see a new overview made by EUROSTAT, EU’s Statistical Office in Luxembourg. It shows which sources we get our energy supply from today.

As you see we get more than 25 % from nuclear power plants. There are 109 nuclear power stations in EU-27 ( in 15 member states ). It is in particular France, which produces a large part of its energy from nuclear.

In the whole world there are today 440 nuclear power stations – placed in 30 countries.

It is in my view evident that nuclear energy is indispensable in our societies. And it is also a fact that all the modern stations are run with huge safety rules.

In more and more countries the interest for what is called GREEN NUCLEAR POWER is on the clear increase. This is energy based on THORIUM, not on uranium.  Just in India 62 power nuclear stations are being built right now – most of them based on thorium.  They will be operational from 2025.  The Chinese are also on the way.

I will tomorrow briefly describe why thorium-based nuclear power stations are so special ( so safe, so efficient, so useless to use for production of arms, and based on the raw material thorium, which exist in huge quantities in many areas of the world ).

Green nuclear power should fundamentally change our view on nuclear – as also explained recently in an article in one of Germany’s biggest dailies, Die Welt.

AMERICA IS COMING BACK TO THE WORLD !

NOVEMBER 24: This is the day! The day when president Trump finally three weeks after the American elections de facto accepts that Joe Biden has won the elections.   And won by a big margin.   So, now US is coming back to the world.   The nominations president-elect Biden is doing shows that he is choosing experienced and professional people, who know what they will be responsible for.   This is also great news for Europe.    The European-American relations will now come back on the track – as real allies, not as sort of adversaries, as Trump preferred to see them.   EU president Charles Michel yesterday congratulated Biden with his victory and invited him to a summit meeting with EU in Brussels next year, after he has taken over in January. The EU with its 448 mio. inhabitants and the US with 328 mio. have a lot in common.   Their mutual trade is huge. MY VERY FIRST SCHOOL DAY -  April 2, 1952: Today ( April 2, 2021 )   it is exactly 69 – sixtynine – years ago, since I started going to school. This is a long time ago. It was in 1952. But I still remember it, as if it were yesterday. Can you understand that ? It was a wonderful, sunny morning.   I had for such a long time been looking forward to going to school.   Ok, I could already read and I could also write reasonably.   But I wanted to learn much more. And quickly! I knew that we were 4 kids in our village, who should start that day. Two girls and two boys. I knew the other three well.
